The region can be divided with respect to the three municipalities. Moncton is the only officially bilingual city in Canada. Dieppe is a mostly francophone city with approx 80% of its population having French as their main language. Riverview is considered for the most part as a bedroom community and is the smallest of the three.

The public school system is very well respected in New Brunswick. Students are able to study in either official language (English or French). Both school districts are continuously making additional efforts to attract international students. Last year there were over 350 international students attending class and living in Greater Moncton.
Greater Moncton is less than an hour away from two of Canada’s national parks as well as one of the wonders of the world, the Hopewell Rocks. Hopewell Rocks is home to the world’s largest tides. The province’s most frequented tourist destination, Parlee Beach, is only a twenty minute drive from Greater Moncton. Parlee Beach Provincial Park boast’s the warmest water north of the Carolinas. Greater Moncton is also the Maritime Provinces’ shopping destination with a multitude of dining and nightlife hotspots as well as one of the oldest restored theaters in New Brunswick, the Capitol Theater.
